Mnoho Tiskových zpráv a prohlášení k současné situaci v Řecku dostáváme od našich řeckých spolupracovníků, cestovních kanceláří a hotelových řetězců. Níže zveřejňujeme zprávu společnosti ALDEMAR:
Dear Friends and Partners,
The truth is that the recent events that took place in the centre of Athens and specifically around the parliament have devastated us all. Admittedly so, in the trying times of a global economic crisis, it would be rather strange if citizens remained silent. Think how much is at stake for the decisions that the EU is called upon to take.
Greece is nothing more than the bastion of a deeply troubled Europe, that has unfortunately become (i.e. Greece) the so called black sheep. This impression though is caused by the persistence of international and Greek media to present these images that we all watched, as part of a broader turmoil in the country. Greece is living at a normal pace, even in the city centre. All areas of Athens remain quiet and safe for tourists as of the 30th of June and the area around the parliament has been cleaned and given to local authorities for use.
Above all, Greece remains one of the most popular and safest destinations for holidays. Noticeable increase in inbound tourism and a significant increase in the index “value for money”. If you ask the current visitors of our country they will confirm the above, while giving the true dimension of the current situation in Greece. Within an environment of international crisis and global insecurity, tourism gives an optimistic note in everyday travellers worldwide.
The millions of tourists who enjoy the Greek hospitality at the moment in our country, without the slightest problem, is the clear proof that our country remains one of the best options for everyone to have a safe and great vacation. Every other image is a consequence of the multiplicative power of media and attempt of disorientation.
Initiate your representatives to visit our country and speak the truth directly! The truth regarding life in Greece, the country that, nowadays, everyone seems to want to ʽmake their ownʼ. Could this fact be only a coincidence?
Best regards,
Alexandros Angelopoulos
